Face Project

Face Project procedure:

1) Raw Image: First is to take a picture of a person’s face.

2) Cropping: Using the cropping tool, select the part of the picture which is desired.

3) Selecting background: When you are satisfied with the cropping step, select the background image using the magic wand tool. The magic wand allows you to select colors depending on the spectrum. Press on the select option again and save selection. When saving a selection you can load the area that you have saved.

4) Inverse Selection: Once you have made the background selection, click on select that is located on the option buttons at the top of photo shop. There you will see options such as all, deselect, select, inverse etc. Choose the inverse option to change the selection focus on the area that is not selected. Use the same processes in saving selection.

5) Left side face selection: By selecting only half of your face, you must use the lasso tool. While having the lasso tool as your current tool, Press down the alt key until you can see the minus sign on the bottom right of your cursor. When you see it, cut through the middle of your face. When you are happy with the choice of line you make through your face, Keep the mouse going on the opposite side of the place you want selected and close the gap. Save selection.

6) Right side face selection: After completed step 5, you now want to select your face again having 3 saved selections. In order to select your face, simply go to select option, load selection, and there are options given to you on which channel you want selected. Select the background selection. After you are done, you are able to see that only your face is selected. From this you can select the other side of your face by going to the select option and load selection. When the load selection is visible, change the channel to your left side face selection and under the operation option, click on the “subtract from Selection” option. Press “ok”. Now you have the opposite side of your face selected. Save selection.

7) Color background: Now that you have 4 different channels, you can choose to change the color of your background. Load selection again and select the background. Look on the right side of your photo shop window, and use the color spectrum and choose the color is desired. When you are happy with the color, press down the alt key and press backspace. Now you have the color you have choose as your background color.

Delete Right side of face: Now to start on your face puzzler, load a selection of either the right side or left side of your face. Once that is done, change the color on the spectrum once again. Now delete the side of the face by pressing the alt key and backspace.

9) Design puzzle shapes: In order to design your puzzle shapes on your face, you must again use the lasso tool. Use the same steps that were mention in step 5 to select the part you want to select.

10) Add picture: Now you can add the pictures that represent you by using the magic wand to select the puzzle piece you want. Drag the picture that you want into photo shop. Select the whole image of the picture. Select a puzzle piece using the magic wand. Go to the edit option and paste into.

11) Repeat the step for until you all the puzzle pieces are filled.

12) Filter background and the opposite side of face: Load selection using your opposite side of the puzzle channel. Select filter and choose which you prefer. Do the same with the background and you are finished
